Its never too early to start planning some (extended) time off.

It’s a new day of a brand-new year with new Saudi holidays and annual leave to use them.

According to the Saudi labour law, you are entitled to at least 21 days off and a whopping 30 days off if you have been working in the Kingdom for more than five years.

What’s more, you get fully paid public holidays.

With four exciting confirmed Saudi public holidays in 2024, there is plenty of fun to be had and making the most of the days we already have off.

One of the newest Saudi holidays on the calendar is Founding Day. Founding day 2024 will be celebrated on Thursday February 22. Yes you will already be getting a long weekend, but you can start your celebrations early by taking Wednesday February 21 or keep it going by taking Sunday February 25 off. Either way, you can have a four-day weekend by using only one annual leave.

When it comes to Saudi holidays, some like Eid al Fitr depend on the moon sightings. This year, it is anticipated Eid al Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday April 9 or Wednesday April 10.  It has been confirmed that private sector employees with get four days off from Tuesday April 9. Add in two more days from your annual leave and you’ll have a mini vacay on your hands. Another holiday to depend on the moon, the Eid al Adha leave begins on the Day of Aarafat and this year that will likely be on Sunday June 16, depending on the moon sightings. You will be getting another weekend to weekend off and adding two days from your annual leave will give you 11 days.

One of the oldest Saudi holidays to be celebrated in the Kingdom, Saudi National Day is an annual holiday. This year, it will fall on Monday September 23 this year. You can take Sunday September 22 off and have a four-day weekend where you take part in all the festivities.
