A slice of Tokyo is now in the Red Sea city.
Tokyo Jeddah is officially open.
The original Riyadh branch is a dining destination for many families, and it is a place where people have grown up.
As of November, you could try Tokyo in Jeddah. The Al Mohmmadiyyah restaurant was in a soft launch phase. Now, it’s open, following the official grand opening event.
Tokyo Riyadh is considered Saudi’s first Japanese restaurant. It opened in 1985 with the goal to deliver true Japanese flavours and teppanyaki live cooking using the finest ingredients. Fast forward decades later, Tokyo has expanded with another larger location in the Saudi capital and incorporated more fusion dishes, but the concept still remains a fine-dining favourite for all.
Now, we’ll get to experience all of that firsthand in the Red Sea city with the launch of Tokyo Jeddah. The eatery is currently open 6pm to 12:30am. The thrilling news was announced on Wednesday November 22.
The Japanese restaurant is known for its signature crispy crab salad, prawn tacos, and Shrimp Blast: a twist on Dynamite Shrimp featuring panko-fried prawns mixed in Tokyo’s signature Blast Sauce. The Saad Maki Rolls are another favourite thanks to a combination of deep-fried shrimp, crab, sweet potato, mint, and a special sauce.
A range of Japanese-influenced mocktails and desserts – including homemade ice creams and sorbets – add to the appeal.
