Goalllll! Saudi Arabia has officially submitted a bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034.
The bid was submitted to FIFA officials in Paris on Monday July 29 by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal Al Saud, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) Yasser Al Misehal, along with two kids from SAFF youth regional training centres.
The official bid book submission took place in a ceremony held by Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) in Paris.
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has endorsed Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034.

Later, SAFF, the body leading the Kingdom’s bid to host the World Cup, unveiled the official bid campaign on Friday March 1, 2024 via X.

Saudi FIFA World Cup 2034 history
The Kingdom first submitted its bid to host the World Cup on Tuesday October 31, 2023. The thrilling news was confirmed by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on social media on Tuesday October 31.
Infantino stated that following the World Cup 2030 with celebratory matches in South America (Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay), Saudi will host the 2034 football event.
Ultimately, Australia decided not to bid on the FIFA World Cup 2034. Saudi was the only other nation to bid.
Football Australia confirmed it would not be bidding just before the FIFA deadline on Tuesday October 31.
“We have reached the conclusion not to do so for the 2034 competition,” read a statement from Football Australia.
Saudi previously announced a bid to host the World Cup on Wednesday October 4.
It was being led by the Saudi Arabian Football Association (SAFF).
On Monday October 9, it was revealed that Saudi had submitted a letter of intent to host the football event. This was the second stage in the process.
“Last week we announced our ambitions to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, and this official submission continues our journey to make the dreams of our people a reality,” said Yasser Al Misehal, president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation about the letter of intent. “We are extremely committed to presenting the most competitive bid possible that will also help unite the world through football.”
The Saudi FIFA World Cup 2034 bid follows the Kingdom’s growing experience in hosting world-class football championships (and events) such as the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup 2023 and the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
