The world’s first Dragon Ball theme park is coming to Saudi

The park will have seven zones and themed in-park hotels

It’s time to go Super Saiyan because a brand-new Dragon Ball theme park is coming to the Kingdom.

Part of the massive Saudi mega-project and entertainment destination Qiddiya City, the anime theme park is the first of its kind and will feature more than 0.5 million square metres of the most iconic storylines, moments and characters from the saga.

The flagship attraction will have seven distinct zones inspired by the seven Dragon Balls with 30 rides and five groundbreaking attractions.

The excitement does not end here though because the park will boast iconic landmarks such as Kame House and Capsule Corporation.

Saudi Arabia Dragon Ball theme park

Touted as the first Dragon Ball saga-inspired theme park, the massive Qiddiya City attraction is all about celebrating the anime. Spread over 500,000 square metres, the space will have seven distinct zones where you’ll be able to experience the most iconic storylines, moments and characters from the anime. You will also be able to explore fan-favourite locations from the anime like “Kame House”, “Capsule Corporation” and “Beerus’ Planet”.

The ground-breaking attraction will be located 40 kilometres away from the capital in Qiddiya City, the world’s first-ever play-focused city spanning-across 360 kilometres that is determined to bring to life the power of play.

Dragon Ball theme park opening date

The theme park was announced in March 2024. No official opening date has been revealed but check back with Time Out to learn more.

What to expect from the Dragon Ball theme park?

The sprawling park will feature over 30 rides and experiences, and five state-of-the-art attractions where you’ll embark on an unforgettable journey with Goku and his friends.

Get ready to feel the smooth ascent and stomach-dropping descent of the thrilling rollercoaster which will let your soar through the park like Shenron. Speaking of the green dragon, the park will be dwarfed by a staggering Shenron statue standing at 70 metres.

Dragon Ball theme park aims to offer a fully immersive experience and will offer themed in-park hotels for you to stay overnight as well as restaurants serving dishes inspired by the long-running anime.

The theme park is an homage to the saga and will be a fitting tribute to the series creator Akira Toriyama who recently passed away.

Qiddiya City

The play-focused city is one of the most exciting Saudi giga-projects coming to the Kingdom. Part of Saudi Vision 2030, the sprawling space will feature 25 new neighbourhoods and a whopping 27 new attractions.

The city will also be home to over 10 theme parks including the first Six Flags in the Kingdom with the largest and fastest rollercoaster in the world. Qiddiya is also getting the Prince Mohammad bin Salman Stadium that will sit all futuristic and cool atop the Tuwaiq Mountains. Of course we cannot forget about the Qiddiya racetrack which will see drivers zooming around the mountains.
