Prepare to release your inner speedster with a touch of culture as you zoom around historical Al Balad for the first-ever Al Balad half-marathon.
The 21.1-kilometre race is happening next month and will have you running around the UNESCO World Heritage site along with other racers and the morning birds.
Get ready to run fast through scenic locations of Al Balad. Here is everything you need to prepare for the half-marathon.
Jeddah half-marathon 2024
What is the Jeddah half-marathon?
The half-marathon is a public sporting event taking place in March in historical Jeddah. The race has been organised by the Ministry of Sport along with Saudi Sports for All Federation and has four different distances available.
- Half-marathon: 21 kilometre
- Race one: 10 kilometre
- Race two: Four kilometre
- Race three: One kilometre
The event will have you running around the UNESCO World Heritage Site from 6am. The race is open to all regardless of sporting ability.
Jeddah half-marathon location
The Jeddah half-marathon will have you racing around Al Balad. The 21.1 kilometre race will begin from Al Balad’s historical gate of Bab Jadid and take you across some iconic landmarks including the Nassif House, the Al Matbouli Museum and the Al Juffali Mosque.
You’ll pass by the King Fahd Fountain overlooking the picturesque Jeddah Corniche before crossing the finish line back at Bab Jadid.

The half-marathon will be on Saturday March 2 from 6am to noon.

Think you got what it takes to complete the half-marathon? Registration for the Jeddah half-marathon has opened on premiereonline.com. There are five categories of the race available,
- 21 kilometre half-marathon: SAR92
- 10 kilometre race (early bird): SAR69
- Four kilometre race (early bird): SAR44.85
- One kilometre race (early bird): SAR34.50
- One kilometre race (special needs, early bird): SAR34.50
Each registration will come with a certificate, a goody bag, live results, medal, photo service or download, refreshments, timing and a T-shirt.
Jeddah half-marathon village
Once you have completed the Jeddah half-marathon, head down to the race village at Bab Jadid, where family-friendly activations, food trucks and live entertainment will be available.
