Your family plan just got an uber upgrade – and it’ll make you worry less.

The new feature has live tracking and audio recording built into the account to ensure the highest measures of safety.

Yes, this means you can breathe a little easier if you can’t make it out of work in time for footie practice drop-off.

Here’s everything you need to know about Uber Teens Saudi.

Uber Teens Saudi

What is Uber Teens Saudi?

Uber’s newest feature is designed to offer families flexibility without compromising on safety. Presented as a specialised account, Uber Teens Saudi will let your teens book their own rides with parental supervision, meaning you’ll be worrying a lot less.

Through the Family Profile in the Uber app, you can invite your teen to create an account. Once the account is created, your child will go through the mandatory safety onboarding process. As soon as the process has been completed, your teen can start requesting trips on their own.

Uber Teens Saudi safety features

The specialised account comes with six features to ensure the highest possible levels of safety.

  • Live trip and delivery tracking: You will be able to live-track your teen’s ride with real-time updates whenever they request a ride. You will also receive the driver’s name, vehicle information and requested drop-off location.
  • PIN verification: Each ride will be issued a special PIN that the teen needs to give to the driver before the journey begins. Drivers will not be able to start the trip until they enter the correct code into the app.
  • RideCheck: Using sensors and GPS, Uber will be able to detect if a ride goes off course, stops unexpectedly or ends early. If something like this happens, the Uber app will message the teen and the driver to make sure all is OK.
  • Audio recording available on trips: Uber’s audio recording feature will record audio for the entire trip through the app and save the files on the teen’s device.
  • Expanded communication: You will be able to contact your teen’s driver at any time during a trip.
  • Only highly rated, experienced drivers: Drivers who have passed local screening and background check requirements and are highly-rated and experienced will be able to receive trip requests from teen account holders. Drivers can choose to opt-out of receiving teen trips at any time.
