The world’s highest prayer room has officially been named in Makkah, earning Saudi another Guinness World Record.
The new Makkah prayer room hangs high above in the sky, and is fittingly called Sky Mussallah. It’s located in Address Jabal Omar Makkah.
Sky Mussallah location
Rising 483 metres above sea level, it’s located in the interconnecting bridge that links the Address Jabal Omar Makkah hotel’s twin towers across floors 36, 37 and 38.
The record-breaking space stands 179 metres from the hotel’s internal road level.
You must be staying at the hotel to access Sky Mussallah.

World’s highest prayer room photos
Spanning 550 square metres, with a capacity to hold 520 people, the prayer space will offer all visitors a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the holy sights of Makkah, which include the Holy Kaaba and Masjid al Haram.
The interiors of the prayer room will merge Arabic and contemporary interior design, with Arabic calligraphy adorning the walls, the strokes inscribing the different “Names of God in Islam” such as Al Muqaddim (The Advancer) and Al Mani (The Shielder and Protector). Arabic letters and verses of the Holy Quran will also be on the pillars and walls.
Saudi Guinness World Record 2024
Right as it opened, the new prayer room was awarded a Guinness World Record for “Highest Prayer Room Within a Skybridge”.
To achieve this record, the prayer space was first assembled as a 650-tonne steel bridge at 312 metres above sea level and was then lifted to the final level where it currently resides.
