It’s official: Saudi is hosting World Expo 2030.
The thrilling news was announced on Tuesday November 28.
This incredible announcement comes after the majority of votes were given to Saudi at the 173rd General Assembly in Paris of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) where finalists Italy (Rome), South Korea (Busan) and Saudi (Riyadh) waited with bated breaths for the winning host.
Saudi of course coming out on top. It’s time to wave those flags.
Saudi hosting Expo 2030 is a natural fit with Vision 2030 and KSA proving it knows how to host amazing events, such as the Saudi Seasons, like Jeddah and Riyadh Season. The Saudi Pavilion was also an award winner and hit at Expo 2020.
Saudi announced its bid for Riyadh to host World Expo 2030 back in 2021, when His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City revealed his Era of Change plans for the Kingdom.
Riyadh Expo 2030 plans have been in the works. The Riyadh Expo 2030 masterplan was announced in June 2023.

Saudi World Expo 2030 theme
The theme of the expo focuses on “Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow”.

Wondering when Expo 2030 is? The massive event will officially start on Tuesday October 1, 2030 and last until Sunday March 31, 2030. Just think of all the thrilling events and activities.
Saudi Arabia Expo 2030 location
The site will be located near King Salman International Airport, with over 226 exhibition pavilions and the giga-events, aiming to attract 40 million visitors.
World Expo history
The World Expo was previously hosted in the Middle East when Dubai was home to World Expo 2020. The next World Expo will be hosted in Osaka, Japan before the behemoth event comes to Riyadh for Expo 2030.
