Prepare for landing. The first Saudi Red Sea water runway in Saudi has come to the Red Sea.
Located on Ummahat Island, the Saudi Red Sea water runway is the first water aerodrome (and first water strip license) in Saudi following the launch of the Kingdom’s first seaplane company, Fly Red Sea.
Red Sea Global (RSG) announced the new water runway on Monday October 23 in alignment with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
Fly Red Sea is a new seaplane airline in the luxury destination operating with an initial fleet of four Cessna Caravan 208s seaplanes set to expand to nine seaplanes by 2028 and over 20 by 2030.
The Red Sea giga-project is one of the major projects in the Kingdom including mega projects like AMAALA, rocky hotels like Desert Rock and upcoming crystal clear staycations at Nujama.
Following the launch of the Red Sea International Airport (RSI), the new water runway will allow visitors to transfer via the new Saudi airport connecting land and water.
